Recipe |

| Hook | Size 12 straight shank |
| Body | Dubbing |
| Hackle | Deer Hair |
| Thread | 6/0 |
|
Wrap thread around shank of hook several times to
lay a.good base, start at the eye and work down to the curve of the hook.
Take the dubbing and "spin" a small amount onto your thread. Make your body thicker at the curve of the hook and taper up towards the eye-stop about 1/8 of an inch from the eye of the hook. Take a small amount of deer hair and remove the short strands. Then insert into a hair stacker to even up the ends. Remove from stacker and attach to top of hook with several wraps of the thread, being careful not to wrap too tight or the deer hair will "Flare". Trim off excess deer hair that is closest to the eye. Attach hackle and continue to wrap towards the eye of the hook with the thread. Wrap hackle around the shank of the hook 2-4 times, secure hackle to hook by doing several wraps with the thread. Trim hackle and then do your fihishing loops. Trim thread and apply head cement. |

Since this is a dry surface fly, before I cast I apply some floatent to the fly. Cast it out and then pull it in with both slow and quick movements, some pauses in between. You want to imitate a bug that is on top of the water. |

| ***Note--I've only been fly fishing going on two years, so not only am I a novice to fly fishing, but even more of a novice at tying fly's. Here are a couple of my favorites. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Happy fishing! | |
